About a year ago I was introduced to Sean through a mutual organic church friend.  Sean was working for Qwest at the time, going to art school, leading a house church, and raising three kids with his wife, Jessica.  Sean’s the kind of guy you can talk to all day, and I’m the kind of guy who likes to talk, so we hit it off right away.  He’s also an Aurora native and has always felt a calling for this area – another thing we shared.

After a few weeks of casual conversations, Sean felt like the Lord was asking him to ramp things up a bit with me… God wanted us to begin praying the Luke 10:2b prayer, which is, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”  So nearly every day since then we have been calling each other at some point in the day and praying that God would send workers into his harvest field… into Aurora.  Now, the answers we’ve seen to this prayer is another post, but you can imagine how the depth of our relationship has increased by this simple discipline.

We are now brothers in the Lord and coworkers in God’s harvest.  We, along with Matt Rampey, meet weekly for early-morning prayer, and almost weekly go out to local pubs and restaurants seeking out people to share Jesus with.

In April, Sean felt like God was leading him and his house church to join the TreasureField network.  After some healthy discussion and prayer with everyone involved, we were happy to link arms with them in our Kingdom efforts here in Aurora.  It’s incredible how Jesus orchestrated this over time.  I’m thankful for Sean and his church family… we are both now better because we have each other.
